Dr. Paul Lovero was born and raised in Sugar Land, Texas, and studied at the University of Houston, where he was inducted into Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society and received numerous clinical letters of excellence in the category of contact lenses and family practice. He earned both his undergraduate and doctorate of optometry degrees and graduated magna cum laude.
He was selected to join the Gold Key International Optometric Honor Society, and later, became the sub-investigator for an FDA clinical trial to evaluate a prospective implant system aimed at improving visual acuity in patients over 45.
Dr. Lovero also managed difficult corneal and anterior segment cases in an ophthalmology practice, specializing in corneal transplants and gas permeable contact lenses for patients with keratoconus and sjögren’s syndrome.
In Montrose, Dr. Lovero provides quality vision care products and personalized optometric services using state-of-the-art technology. He treats a wide array of eye diseases and conditions, such as cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and more. He’s a licensed therapeutic optometrist and optometric glaucoma specialist and serves as Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor in the Family Practice and Contact Lens Clinic at the University of Houston College of Optometry.
A travel enthusiast, and dedicated to community service and humanitarian efforts, Dr. Lovero is also a member of the Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity. He recently traveled to Chinandega, Nicaragua, to provide vision care and prescription eyeglasses for over 1300 people in need.
Dr. Lovero spends his time with his husband and their two dogs, Milo and Coco. An avid runner and cyclist, he enjoys area parks and bike trails, and he greatly appreciates the local artwork and Houston city skylines.
