Montrose Eye Care family,

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the American Optometric Association (AOA), Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) finds it essential that all eye care providers cease providing any treatment other than urgent or emergent care immediately. This comes with a heavy heart. We are all experiencing a tremendous amount of difficulty as the impact of the COVID-19 virus is felt around the world.

All optometrist are required to abide by The Optometric Oath upon receiving our doctorates. With full deliberation, I freely and solemnly pledge that I AFFIRM that the health of my patient will be my first consideration.

Our first priority is the safety and well-being of our patients and staff. Effective today, Montrose Eye Care will be postponing routine eye care visits until further notice. If you are scheduled to see us before then, you will be receiving a call or text in the next few days to reschedule. As health care professionals, we believe we have a role to play in “flattening the curve” in order to help limit infections and slow the spread of the virus.

I live in Montrose and will remain on-call in the event of an ocular emergency. If you have items to pick up in the office (glasses/contacts) please text our office at 713-300-1477 and we will set up a time to pick up.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation during this difficult time as we all work together to keep our community healthy and safe. By supporting each other and working together, we will overcome these difficult times and come out stronger than ever! I wish you all and your families all the best.

Warm regards,

Dr. Paul Lovero
